So, while watching Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix today, it struck me. Why didn't Harry and Luna get together? They had more in common than Harry and Ginny, plus they understood each other in a way no one else did. Oh, and LUNA never risked hers and Harry's lives because of writing in a diary, like GINNY did. lol. Also, when Harry needed a date to the Slug Club Christmas Party, he took Luna, NOT Ginny. I know she was dating Dean Thomas at the time, but STILL ... that's his BEST FRIEND'S SISTER!!! Harry and Luna's relationship seemed more organic, while Ginny always had to act a certain way so as not to make it obvious she had a crush on him. I don't know, maybe I just like Luna better, but I thought that she and Harry should've ended up together, and Ginny should've been with Neville. I mean, honestly, why would he end up with Hannah Abbott? Can you say RANDOM????

Why didn't these two kool kats end up together?

Yeah, I know. I totally agree with you on that. I mean, I don't hate Ginny or anything, but Luna just seems more...real, you know? Yes, she and Harry have much more in common with each other, and they understand each other more than probably anyone else.
Yes, Ginny and Neville should have gotten paired together, as should have Harry and Luna. Hannah Abbot was VERY random, I definitely agree. I mean, at the very least, why couldn't have Neville and Luna ended up together? I mean, they're the most likely of pairings - as Harry is with Ginny. Nev/Luna would have made a good pairing, too. Hannah? Not so much. I mean, we don't even know much, if anything, about that Hufflepuff to really base a character off of.
Still, had I been the one picking the couples, Harry and Luna DEFINITELY would have been paired up.

Harry & Luna should have been a couple, I agree that they are much more suited to each other than he & Ginny.
i agree also that harry and luna should have been a couple but i also think that harry and hermione would be a good couple, but i guess that J.K. Rowling wont go back and change it so i guess we will just have to face the fact that not everyone expects someone to go out with a person they hang out with alot.but then again, i dont think harry ever really knew alot about ginny because she barely talked but as i said before we will just have to deal with what J.K. Rowling wrote even though that it was rubbish who she paired neville up with. Hope everyone looks up this blog because i think it is a very interesting topic.

Definitely. Harry + Luna = win. Although when I was like 7 I was a huge Harry/Hermione fan, but I outgrew that (Hermione and Ron really are a good pair). As sweettreat said, Harry/Luna or Luna/Neville would be Luna's best pairings.
